GPT4 was released by Open AI (a San Francisco based company, part-owned by Microsoft) in March 2023. Trained with tens of trillions of words of text (as much as all the books humanity has produced), its ability to form and execute complex plans is still limited. But given the rate of progress, future releases may well have that ability.
